Difference J30A4 vs J30A5 Engines

Asked by Oct 01, 2011 at 06:32 PM about the 2003 Honda Accord EX V6

Question type: Car Customization

Hi, I'm new on the forum.  Can anyone let me know if there's a difference in the short block of the J30A4 and the J30A5 V6 engines?  I have a 2003 Accord V6 and a friend of mine gave me a 2006 V6 (J30A5) engine and would like to change the short block.  Thank you,

Frankie

I have the reverse problem. My daughter's 2007 Accord threw a rod bearing at 66k miles. Some say you can substitute other engines (even an Acura TL 3.2L which has 270 HP) but I'm worried that if I put a TL, J30A4 or J30A1 that yes it may bolt up, but there will probably be some problem with emissions or electrical resulting at least in an Engine light that stays on and at worst, the car won't run right or pass the smog. In If interested in selling, please email me: kcomst at gee-male dot com, or call at 9-seven-oh, 23-four, 67 two-five. Thanks, Ken
