1993 4l60 transmission

I have a 1993 GMC suburban 4x4 with just over
300,000 miles,.  My transmission lost lost 1st gear
and overdrive shifting manually I had 2 and drive,  
..now it seems I've a converter locking up , can go
in reverse, question is will a transmission from a
97 Silverado interchange and can I remove tail VB
housing and install transfer case? Tjanks

You can't "bolt on" a OBD2 transmission onto an OBD1 car. You might be able to make it work if you could find a controller for the newer transmission.
