1993 suburban won't shift

Just aquired a 1993 suburban that I can't get to switch out
of 1st gear. 1st and R works just fine can manually shift 1-2
but it won't shift on its own. Changed out VSS which didn't
make a difference. Any other suggestions?

Behind the glove box there's a lil module can't remember the name but it controls speedodometer it suppose to have 12 volts mine didn't have but 5 volts it calibrated the speed and shifter and speedodometer
