check engine light with trac off light 2015 toyota four runner

Hi a have a 2013 limited 4 runner a change the fuel pump and the check engine and trac light are on what can be causing this

Same thing happened with my 2014 4 Runner after fuel pump changed due to recall. Hmmmm.

Same here. My check engine light and Trac off light came on. My multi terrain select light is blinking after the fuel pump was replaced by a toyota dealer on my 2015 4runner

Same here also. Check engine light and trac off light has come on. the multi terrain select light is blinking. just had the fuel pump replaced by toyota due to the recall on my 2014 4runner trail.

took my 2014 4runner trail back to dealership & they fixed the issues of the check engine light staying on, the trac off light stayed on & also the multi terrain light kept flashing. All this happened after i had the fuel pump replaced due to the recall. the lights are off and everything seems to be working as it should. the dealership told me that when they replaced the fuel pump, they did not get the evap line connected. Per dealership paper work states ( FOUND LARGE EVAP LINE TO BE DISCONNECTED )

Had the same problem after fuel pump recall. I disconnected the + battery cable and let it sit for 5 min., reconnected and appears to be fixed.

yep, 2014 4runner, new fuel pump. CEL and TRAC lit up. Saw were someone else reccomended check the fuel cap, thighten cap if needed, Remove Positive cable for 60 sec. SO far so good.

Same issue! Just had the new Fuel pump installed as per Toyota recall. Engine light illuminated on the left dial, No Trac on the right... and the cruise control at first was not working properly, now has disappeared from the dash (totally not working). Can these be related?

Had the fuel pump replaced in Texas over last month. Same issue: all of a sudden I turned my 4runner on one day and both the check engine and track off lights were out up on the dash.

Evac line to charcoal cannister not properly reinstalled

Same thing happened to our 2015 4 Runner, fuel pump replaced by recall. Drove it less than 200 miles and parked it in the garage. Went to move it the next time, check engine light on, trac off light on and DAC light on. The Display says DAC is unavailable if you try and clear it. Our is a trail model. Looks like Toyota has a bum fix for their recall.

Same thing happened on my 2014 4Runner. Those lights had never come on before, but as discussed above I did recently have the fuel pump replaced via the Toyota Recall about a month ago. Check Engine Light (CEL) and TRAC Off lights both came on. I followed the recommendations on this thread and disconnected the battery for a few minutes. I then reconnected, and turned on the 4Runner - the CEL and TRAC Off lights did not come back on, so disconnecting the battery does solve the problem. I'll keep an eye on it and report back if they come back on.

I'm having to the same issues after recap except my car is also having issues starting and check engine reader is showing "LEAN FUEL"

Yep, same exact issue here! WTH? Got the fuel pump recall done at the dealership and 2 days later the TRAC OFF light and CEL came on. Super infuriating!

Mine just came on also and I had the fuel pump replaced for the recall. Is it ok to drive? I am 300 miles from home.

My 2014 Trail w/ 161,500 miles never had an issue until after fuel pump replaced in recall a month or two ago. One morning early this month when I turned on ignition, several dash lights on: "Multi-Terrain Select NOT AVAILABLE" light came on + 'check engine' light is on + 'trac Off' light is on + a green light is flashing. Takes 3.5 weeks to get in at local dealer. Not driving it beyond 40-mile distance to dealer.

Same thing for me. They said I had a broken fuel injector wire. They replaced the fuel pump as well. Odd that I'd have a broken wire at 77,000 miles.

Same thing Is happening to me. I have a 2014 Toyota 4 runner and now currently experiencing check engine light and trac off light on. So irritating as I just got my recalls fixed last week.

Had same thing happen , replaced fuel pump due to recall, drove about 140 miles, car sat in garage for 2 days, on starting both check eng and trac off lights on. Tried different button combos, but then disconnected battery for about 2 min. Reconnected, started car and for now lights and buttons all indicate/ are working properly! Toyota really needs to get this right.

2014 Trail 40,000 miles. I had CEL , Trac and flashing multi terrain flashing come on last night after it was sitting in the driveway for 8 hours. I checked gas cap ,looked for any sign of wire chewing . Nothing . Drove it around the block, ran fine, checked all fluids. All good. I pulled the + battery cable for 5 minutes. Lights are out truck runs fine. We will see.

Just wondering are we going to same dealership same mechanic or it just Toyota problem? or is it human factor or common mistake I don’t understand. I went to replace fuel pump and came out with same problem check engine on traction control off. Thanks to you guys for posts .went back to dealership after multiple attempts to clear the code. I was told that some tube wasn’t connected properly. Toyota 4Runner 2014
