2015 ford fusion push button start : when its cold out the steering does not work seems locked car runs, goes into gear but cant turn steering wheel

when its cold out the steering does not work it seems to lock up. The car starts
fine ges into gear will drive but steering wheel is frozen in last position . tis is a
push button to start so no key invlved.

I took my car to the dealership for same reason. They had me leave it overnight to see it froze in the morning. Sure enough it was froze they diagnosed it as a low battery. Apparently they battery was low and in energy safe mode. Steering doesn’t get power in this mode. Replaced the battery and everything has been fine. That was in December....today I have loss of power steering. I see there is a recall and will be taking it to the dealership first thing Monday morning. Good luck
