Ford Fiesta 1.0 Ecoboost

Asked by Blake Aug 11, 2020 at 05:26 AM about the 2015 Ford Fiesta SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 ford fiesta 1.0 ecoboost. It is currently with my mechanic as it
was misfiring and idling heavy. Upon initial inspection, the first issue was just
a faulty coil pack. Unfortunately this did not eradicate the heavy idling issue
and the brand new spark plug in cylinder 1 was fouled. He then ran further
tests after noticing the water bottle bubbling and the exhaust blowing white
smoke and found that the compression in cylinders 2 and 3 was between 10
and 12, but cylinder 1 was only at 6. He is in the process of pulling the head
off today to find out what the cause may be, but in your opinion what could it
be? He said possible issues with the fuel injector (as once it gets passed
2000rpm it runs fine, but anything under it struggles) or possible damage to
the piston or rings or possible head gasket damage? I'm just hoping the
problem can be fixed without replacing the engine as it only has 60000kms
on it. What are your thoughts?

Probably has a leaking head gasket. When the leak gets severe enough it will effect the idle, but at higher rpm it may run just fine. Did you ever overheat it? Overheating can ruin a head gasket pretty quickly.
