Water pump. Clogged cooling system passages in the engine. Low coolant level. Air trapped in the cooling system. When an engine overheats while driving it's a coolant circulation problem. Hope that helps! Jim

An engine running hot at higher speeds can be due to cooling system restrictions causing coolant to flow too slowly to cool the engine, but that's usually a water pump and radiator problem. More often, overheating at higher speeds is due to engine exhaust restrictions due to a clogged catalytic converter. I'm guessing you have a problem accelerating up grades, as well.

Thanks... I have new radiator, thermostat and hoses and new CC's last year. So I'm thinking the WP, still have the original part. I can check, to see if CC are clogged to make sure.

Hi Ed92626, I saw your answer to my question a few weeks ago and everything was fine until yesterday, the temp gauge started to run hot again, and it sputtered alittle. Mind you, I replaced radiator, hoses, waterpump and thermostat!!. What else can it be?
