How many miles until my transmission goes out?

Asked by Jeffrey Jul 27, 2020 at 11:57 PM about the 2015 Ford Explorer Limited

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 Ford Explorer limited it has a little
over 110,000 miles nothing seems to be wrong with
the car other than the front right brake sounds like
metal grinding when I press the brakes I don’t know
what that could be I changed the brake caliber and
the brakes and it still continues. But my question is
how long can my car last before the transmission
goes out

If you are not abusing it and are doing regular oil changes and other maintenance items, it should give you another 100K. The brake noise is probably just a worn out pad. When you changed the caliper, did you change any pads? Usually, brake noise is caused by either worn pads, rotors, calipers or a combination of some of them. When fixing, it is a good practice to do both right and left sides at the same time.
