Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello I have a 2002 v6 Mustang. Bolt on Mods only. BBK
cold air intake BBK 65mm Throttle Body And single
Flowmaster Super 44 Muffler. Everything else is stock, but
I am not getting the acceleration I should be out of the car,
and by that I mean that my friends stock 4 cyl Ford Focus
can beat me in a race. My SES light is on and it says the
bank 1 sensor 1 O2 sensor is running lean. I'm not really
sure where to start to help it and really need your guys'
suggestions. Thanks.

When replacing the throttle body and cold air intake did you hook up all the vacuum lines and connections and you have no leaks? What was the code #?

Christian Barlow

Yes I have checked for leaks and have not found any. The code number was P1131. Could the oxygen sensor itself be affecting the performance ?

Yes, HEGO signals the EEC to help control AF ratio.
