Cooling Fan won’t turn off

Asked by Anthony Mar 01, 2023 at 11:01 AM about the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 Crew Cab 4WD

Question type: General

My truck fan continues to run . I changed the
temperature coolant sensor a week ago.
Unhooked negative battery post to reset .
There was no check engine light or no code .
Ran fine for a week and started acting up
again . I have no leaks, plenty of coolant .
What could be the issue with this ?

My GM started acting like this and it was the thermostat, it had stuck partially open so the engine was never getting up to temperature and the cooling fan would run until the battery got too low then it would shut off, I would then recharge the battery, start the truck and it would do the same thing all over again. Replaced the thermostat and the problem was cured. Don’t know if that’s your problem but it sure sounds like it.

Gotta love Chevy........ No codes......even the techs hate chevy engineers now, computer smart, world applied science stupid. The designers dont know a screw driver from a tire nowadays.
