why does my car stall when i start to go at a stop sign or when i turn and when i put in in reverse?

car keeps stalling every time i turn, take off from stop, and /or put in reverse. it has been
slowly getting worse.

I am no mechanic but my car did the exact same thing and it turned out to be the timing belt.

My 2002 escort dies when I come to a stop I did everything to replacing spark plugs to the wires and fuel but still stalls I'm at my witts end in what it might be
