What are the known problems with a 2003 ford windstar?

Don't buy it. Windstars have a major recall on the subframe of the van breaking and Ford was buying them back and scrapping the whole vans because it was impossible to fix. I don't remember what years were recalled but I would stay away from any Windstars.

my daughter just baught a 2002 ford windstar for her to drive back and forth to work and to collage this fall. Im concerned now to here bad things about this type/year van.Please someone Help!! I want my daughter to be safe.
I purchased 15 years ago a 2003 winstar drove to mexico 10 times 5000 miles each trip no problems now with 190,000 i do not trust an other trip to mexico but still in good shape to drive around ,, good car,,
