My wife has a 2014 Escape. We are now having the coolant problem.

Asked by Richard Aug 13, 2020 at 11:36 PM about the 2014 Ford Escape SE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife and I are having the coolant problem a lot of people had a couple years
ago. We just turned 62000 miles. We bought the extended warranty through
Zurich. The dealer is calling in an inspector to review the case. Please tell me I
am not going to get stuck with a bill for a new engine. Did ford ever issue a
permanent fix for this?

What is "the coolant problem"? We are good here but we are not mind readers. Without a lot more information we could not possibly evaluate your engine.

Coolant leaking into the cylinders. I saw a lot of people had the same problem in 2018.

We couldn't tell you the outcome. It would be based on the actual issue and vehicle and the level of coverage with the warranty. I would wait till you find out what the inspector finds. Maybe you pay nothing, something or all of the repair. I would fight if it was 100%. Call Ford corporate. Most times you might pay half.
