2014 Escape leaking coolant

Asked by GuruSNS3Z Jun 04, 2019 at 12:54 PM about the 2014 Ford Escape SE AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My daughter's '14 Escape keeps leaking coolant from somewhere around the
backside of the engine. When adding coolant, the tank fills up, then slowly
pours out onto the ground until the recovery tank is nearly empty, then the
leak seems to stop. Naturally, I assumed the plastic recovery tank must be
cracked or something so I ordered a new one and replaced it. As soon as I
refilled the new tank, the same thing happened. Coolant pour right out onto
the ground until the tank was almost empty, then stopped leaking. Radiator
and upper and lower hoses look good. There is no obvious source of this leak
without having torn apart the under side of the vehicle.

Is there a common issue with this? Any related recalls or service bulletins?
Just thought I'd ask before I go digging.
