I have a 89Pontiac Bonneville 3800 76,400 miles started sputtering until get to 50mph then jerks what could be going on

Check fuel pressure, it should be 37 to 43 lbs.

Another thing on those is the intake gaskets are known to leak. Is there lean condition code?

Actually the '97 and forward are the ones with the intake gasket issues.A lean condition would be trouble code 44. Sounds like a fuel pressure regulator problem. HTH. -Jim
