Either that or the fuel pump(s) themselves or the selector switch could be broken

i have a 1989 ford f-250 4x4 with a 5.8 v8 i just switched the cab hooked everything up everything works but when i turn the key it’s really easy and it’s not starting no crank no tick nothing.

I have an 1981 Ford F-250 with a C4 Transmission and 300ci Straight 6 Engine. Not sure if both were replaced but the engine was due to high gas prices. The Neutral safety switch has 5 wires instead of 4 and my wiring harness near the Tranny has a plug that will only accept 2 wires. I saw a post online that said that the 5th wire could be an overdrive which would be connected to a 12v switch in order to activate. The truck had a very difficult time reaching 55mph and would not exceed it so the overdrive idea might make sense. Without knowing more about the variations of Ford Transmissions, I'm Lost. Right now I'm in need of a complete rebuild, but think it would be wiser to find a transmission better suited for the truck. Also, The Trucks GVW is almost 9000 lbs so i was thinking of getting a C6 that would be heavier duty that would bolt right in. Any Help is appreciated.
