2000/2003 Ford ranger/Ford ranger edge

Asked by Ben May 02, 2020 at 12:08 AM about the 2003 Ford Ranger 2 Dr Edge Standard Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I recently got my first project car. it's a 2003 ranger
edge and it has the engine, transmission, and
computer from a 2000 ranger. when I first got it, it
would crank and not start, we figured to mess with
the PATS and that hasn't worked yet but I
mistakenly messed with the fuses without taking
a picture and now it won't crank at all. any
thought?

You need a manual, that will have a depiction of the fuse box and fuse locations. Even without that, each slot should be labeled with fuse rating (ie 15A, 20A, etc.), worst case scenario just fill every slot with the correct rated fuse and you should be back in business, or at least back to the "crank no start" condition you were previously at.

I've got it cranking again and sprayed starter fluid into the throttle body and it tries to run out isn't getting fuel, I've checked the pressure on the fuel rails and it has pressure, the fuses and relays for fuel pump are fine. any idea what else might effect this?
