1989 GMC 1500 series

Driveing till truck cuts off at light n sat awhile cools
off then it will run till it do that again

Check you distributor cap, plugs and wires. The cap is most likely the issue. Best of luck!

Your describing the classic GM ignition module failure, so Replace it and if the distributor pickup coil has never been replaced I would do that also, that way both the signal generator and the control module can start out fresh.


And don't go the cheap ones, or you will be right back in the to do it again.
