2014 Subaru Head Gasket Replacement $4,600?!?!

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Took my 2014 Forester for a mini service and got hit with a "have you
overheated? your head gasket will be $4600"... my JAW dropped. 2 years ago
front axles and boots were replaced, then transmission valve, airbag module,
horn. I've been asking about white smoke and oil burning smell since I
practically bought the car (i remember looking at the odometer and it was
slightly over 30,000 miles when this started), I even wrote to Headquarters last
year that I'm being ignored about the white smoke and burning oil smell and
only got a response of "try harder". I'm suspecting 4600 is only the beginning,
and then once in the shop the radiator will need to be replaced.  I bought this
car because I expected reliability, it's been nothing but headache. So upset.
Anyone else having so many issues with a 2014 Forester?

Over heating plays hell with aluminum engines. Did you buy a used car with no warranty? .
