When cranking my car it makes a tapping noise. What do you think it is?

When cranking car it makes a tapping noise and
once it has warmed up you can barely hear the
sound.

Could be a lifter tapping. Check your oil level and pressure. If it is a lifter, you can also try an oil additive. You're better off consulting a mechanic for tapping noises coming from an engine, in case it's something more serious like a a rod or main tapping. Then again it might just be a minor exhaust leak at the manifold.
