2014 Spark won’t start

Asked by usBrowns Jan 12, 2019 at 10:38 AM about the 2014 Chevrolet Spark 1LT FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2014 Spark would not start yesterday, Since it was a manual I was able to
push start the car and complete my trip. The car has started fine on a couple
tries since not starting. Prior to the failure, the emergency flashers came on
when starting the car and once traction control was turned off. Any ideas?

That is probably the original battery and should be tested and maybe replaced. Low voltage, especially while cranking, can make the electronics go crazy. An auto parts store can test and replace the battery for free....you just pay for the battery....$125?

It is the second battery and an ACDelco. However, you were correct! I put the load tester on and the voltage fell off to 6v. Picked up a replacement at Battery Source, dealership didn’t have one, and we were able to return home from our weekend in Georgia. Thanks for the response.

I am pleased that my info pointed you in the right direction, and you did the right thing. Glad you got home safely before that snow storm moves in. Thank you for the points and the good news reply!
