Swoping transitions in 1984 caprice with a 305. for a trasmition out a 1987 caprice

I was just wondering if I could put a transmission out of 87 in to 84 caprice.I
know that are different from each other but what's the difference.? Will it
work?

you have to ck the bolt pattern on the bell housing.they both should be 200 4R overdrive trans.If its a 700 R4 then you need the computer also.87 caprices used an olds 307 thats why you need to ck the bolt pattern,only the police caprice had the 350cid eng.

I owner a 83 and an 85 caprice both had the 5 L engine, that swap probably will work.
