Asked by Spyder999 May 20, 2013 at 01:47 PM about the 1984 Volkswagen Rabbit 2 Dr Base Convertible

Just got a wolfsburg convertible from LA from my son.  Want to get thes 50 series tires
and rims off so my wife can drive it.  What rim with is stock and what off set is the right
one? Do I need to change lug bolts to switch from alloys to steel?

Tirerack shows 117 choices that will fit. Bolt pattern should be 4x100. Standard diameter for that year was a 13"...I think the offset was 35. However, a similar rim in a 14" would provide you a wider selection of tires and would accomodate some 70 series widths that will give you a nice compromise of performance and comfort.
