Reverse light switch stuck closed, crosscircuit in the backup light wiring.

how do you go about fixing this? do you need a new back up light switch?

If that is indeed the problem, you will need to do a little checking first, like if you unplug the switch do the lights go out, if they do then most likely the switch is bad, or the lever in the trans is bent or broken, if they don't then you have a wiring problem and you will have to trace it down.
