How do you test the altanator in a 1996 Dodge
Stratus since battery is in fender well?

You need a multi meter to check the output voltage. Alternatively, you can take it to most Auto Zone or Advanced auto parts to get it tested for free.

with a multi tester , ( you weren't going to pull a batt cable to see if it shuts off were you ) ? There's a big wire that is covered by a boot on the alt. that should be the positive that basically leads right to the batt. positive , then any ground for the other test wire and you should have at least 14 V when it's running , your experience may differ .

Well in order to get to battery I have to take off driver tire, so I'm trying to find out easier way to test it
