The settlement is only $4,300 for a totaled car? Average dealer price for this car is 5 to 6 grand. How did you end up paying twice that?

I have no idea..I swear..she went thru somewhere and her total loan came out to be 12000...so I apologize I have no idea how much it actually was

The Pop is the cheapest model. If it were a Lounge the price paid would be more reasonable. I think Mom was taken advantage of.

My problem isnt with the $$$ it's with the size of the accident and supposedly needing to total it because of the issues it caused....a cracked bumper, dented hood and cost to fix is more than it's worth???

Seeously,Seriously, no air bag deployment, no cracked glass of anything, paint transfer was only damage to other car, the damage u see is it car is perfect other than. ..I need help explaining what damage could have been caused to the car itself with so little structural damage

Get a second opinion. I am thinking they found hidden structural damage. Was this opinion from a body shop or an insurance adjuster?

How many miles on the Car? Retail is around $4500 to $5000, so damage at $4300 the insurance company won't pay to fix the car, and just give you money for what the car is worth, which would be around $5000. What did the insurance company say? Like FOR said, your MIL overpaid for the vehicle, so that is why she is in a predicament. She will have to come up with the other $7K to settle the loan. I would help her purchase the next vehicle.

Another better option is to find someone to fix it for less, pay the bill your self without going through insurance and continue driving it making payments on it.
