Rear vision is blocked by the two rear seat headrests

The rear window vision is blocked by the 2 headrests and you lose half of the line of sight.
Should the headrests be removed ?

If no one sits back there. Are they even removable?

you can.. but it is there to prevent passenger whiplash in the event of a rear ender.
