Hood release cable broken

Asked by Oct 30, 2016 at 11:55 PM about the 2012 Volkswagen Passat S

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My hood release cable is broken. My handle inside
is off the cable as well. I've tried pulling on the
cable and all I hear is a clicking sound up around
the driver side headlight. How do I get the hood
open?

Have someone push and pull up and down on the hood to see if it'll release, if not, try jacking car up and see if u can reach cable from under car or through the front grill

you can remove the bumper I belive to get in there.

I will have to try both of these out on Saturday. Hopefully I can get it open then.
