Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I start to drive and within 5 minutes my van's speedodometer needle goes to zero then bounces back and forth. I also lose power within this time. Once it is running for a little while, it acts like nothing happened. This started about a week ago and now my service engine light is on .. Any ideas here???  I know I need to get it on a diagnostics test but wanting to see if there are any ideas from anyone. thanks

Hello, Before investing in a battery, check with a scanner; looks to me that the speed sensor in the tranny is bad.
