can u hook up a performance chip to a 1998 dodge dakota map sensor
I would not recommend modding the MAP sensor. Modding one sensor generally results in the sensor going out of range and throwing a code. This will only change your fuel and timing. Even if it stays within range, the performance gained (if any) is so minimal, it's hardly noticeable, it may even result in decreasing the performance. If you're going to chip the vehicle, I recommend using a performance module. This device will allow "on the fly" adjustment and allow the sensors to work together. They are pricey, but worth it. http://www.autoanything.com/performance-chips/Dodge/Dakota/110A50207A0A0A23A109A1.aspx
I agree with Mark on this one, the little 1/4 watt resistors can cause other problems.
the cheap ebay type chips are junk. the only way to actually add power is to use a programmer on the computer. gas programmers are not adjustable "on the fly". only some diesels are.
