2013 Jeep grand cherokee v6

Asked by sidok Dec 16, 2021 at 08:01 AM about the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2013 Jeep grand cherokee 6 cyclinder does not want to take the gas in cold
weather until it warms up , once the engine is warmed up it runs like a top.  It
reminds me of an older car that needs to be choked.  This problem is relatively
new   The car has 149,000 miles and has had the oil changed every 5 to 6
thousand miles I had the plugs changed about a year ago  What do you think ?

You may have a sensor misread, a live data scan should show what sensor is out calibration. It won't turn on the check engine light cause the computer is seeing a response from the sensor even though it is wrong.

Thanks, my local mechanic agreed with what you said but also said I needed to take it to the Jeep dealer as his computer was not powerful enough to isolate the problem. Local Jeep dealer told me it would cost me $130 to analyze the problem and didn't know what it would cost to fix it. Ain't that something ! I said I would think about it and left. Maybe I should move to warmer weather.

Yep some independent shops can’t afford the high end test equipment so unfortunately your stuck with dealerships for more complex problems. Thanks for the points
