2013 Passat Rear Turn Light no longer working

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The "bulb fail" light appeared on my dash indicating a bulb failure.  I checked
all lights and realized that the rear passenger tail/blinker light (outside) was
no longer working.   What was odd is that usually when that bulb is out, I get
a really FAST clicking sound when turning on the blinker.  This time, it blinks
as if the light is working fine (i.e., regular not fast interval).

I replaced the bulb - still not working

I replaced the entire socket - still not working

I checked all fuses on driver's side fuse box - All are fine, blinker still not
working.

Any ideas as to what is causing this?   Called the dealer and they will charge
$150 for diag (which would go toward repair) but I hope to exhaust all
measures before spending that money.

I am having same problem. My brake lights and signals aren't working along with hazards. I was told could be turn signal switch.

I am having the same problem. Did you figure out what the cause is?

Well its not brake switch and not turn signal switch. If i push the plug that goes into tail light its self the light will come on. So right now I am ordering the tail light socket itself. If thats not it it has to be the whole wiring harness itself. I pray its not cause that is $$$

Ok so I just said i was replacing the socket but I figured let me tried one more time. That connect in photo was not getting enough power because it was sliding back and forth. Well I took a pair of needle nose pilers and clamped down on it just a little where i saw it was fully touching and no moving. And bam it works now!
