1999 dodge dakota 5.2 manual

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This dang truck!!    For a long time this truck was
rarely driven because when cold,   it starts and
idles perfectly at 700rpm.   As soon as you start to
drive,   rims hang between 2500 and 3000!!
Replaced so much....   TPS,  IAC, MAP sensor all
temp sensors,  cleaned throttle body,  verified all
wires and connectors are good and even replaced
the ECM that was bad also.   I've used carb cleaner
to check for vacation leaves,  and got nothing.  It's
almost bonfire time,   but before I give up,   I want
to beat this thing.    Is there anything I might be
overlooking?

This has been on going issue with many 99 Dakota owners, they have done everything like you have but still have high RPMS. First have your battery load tested, if the battery is not putting out its full power it will cause the ECM to send a false single to the throttle body increasing the RPMS. If the battery checksout Ok then I supecting that the ECM is causing your issue.
