I have a 2.4 motor with a busted oilpan. Do I have to pull the whole motor to replace the oilpan?

No, but it would be easier. If you have access to a lift, then you can gain access to the pan pretty easilly.

no need to drop pan drain oil out ,sand broken area and weld it up.

2 things...replace the pan-don't go for the cheap fix (sand and patch ) if mickey had big ears this is what he would do...only leads to problems down the road...doing the job again....2nd-if your askin this question...get help before starting repair...hope this helps
