I don't know what side is + or - on my Nissan 300zx turbo what cable is which

The car itself has no polarity per se---save for the ground cable from the battery which will connect directly from the negative terminal of ther battery to the body of the car (likely along the firewall). The battery will be marked with a + for the positive terminal and a n - for the negative. You may have to wipe the areas around each terminal to find these symbols.
