Question type: General

Looking to buy a 2000 doge caravan. 2.4 engine
with 315,000 miles. Mostly highway. Seems to run
smooth. Any thoughts on longevity of this engine?

At 315,000 mile there is no way I would buy that car, that's way to many miles something big will break for sure.

I wouldn't, but If you do buy it, have some cash on hand for another vehicle, no guarantees how long it will last.

Unless the car runs good and only costs $200 I would skip it. The engine could go for another 100,000 or just another 100 miles. Everything else on the car has high miles too!

About 15 more minutes

Keep shopping! It could quit at anytime with that kind of mileage on it. Remember, everything else on the van also has 315,000 miles on it too! It's days are numbered! HTH. -Jim
