Is it safe to clean the mass air flow sensor on a 13' mazda cx-5
I have a 2013 Mazda CX-5 (52,250 miles) and I am planning on cleaning the mass air
flow sensor with the correct spray because I've been getting noticable hesitations from
a stop to acceleration.Wanted to know if this is safe with these modern
engines/computers.The previous owner had no intent on changing the air filter as it
was filthy and full of leaves,im hoping this is the issue so my ride will be a little
smoother.I drive in normal conditions with mainly stop and go traffic, the previous
owner drove mainly highway.
yes as long as you use MAF cleaner. if you are having driveability issues there should be stored codes in the computer. have it scanned at autozone or somewhere.
Yea I tried but one of the autozones around me were so lazy that they just said that they wont do it there is no check engine light on because there will be "no codes that are read".But whatever Ill still clean it.If I continue having this issue I will take it in for an OBD test.
