what do the symbols mean on the headlight knob?

Asked by SanDiegoSue Apr 22, 2016 at 02:58 PM about the 2013 Ford Escape Titanium FWD

Question type: General

I have the knob turned all the way to the right on my 2013 escape and that seems to be the setting that allows the headlamps to come on automatically.  I don't see anything in the OM that indicates what the other settings are.  Please help.

Thanks. Actually there are 4 settings. Off, unknown, on, auto. Could the unknown be for the parking lights or perhaps the daytime running lights? Thanks.

To shut the lights off all the way. Shut off the car , open the hood, spin 3 times, click your heels and remove the battery. I should also add the smart key should be at least 3000 miles away from the car while chanting an ancient Celtic prayer Easier way is a pellet gun, ball peen or claw hammer And if all else fails let your teenage daughter borrow the car. Another easy way to get all the lights off is to drink about 24 beers. Hop in the car to drive home and within minutes the police will nicely pull you over to tell you that your lights are out. That is the current way of getting back at you
