what do the symbols mean on the headlight knob?

Asked by Apr 22, 2016 at 02:58 PM about the 2013 Ford Escape Titanium

Question type: General

I have the knob turned all the way to the right on my 2013 escape and that seems to be the setting that allows the headlamps to come on automatically.  I don't see anything in the OM that indicates what the other settings are.  Please help.

Usually there are 3 settings on any newer car these days. Off, On and Auto.

Thanks. Actually there are 4 settings. Off, unknown, on, auto. Could the unknown be for the parking lights or perhaps the daytime running lights? Thanks.
