Would spark plugs go bad after sitting a year

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2002 Dakota 4.7 v8 coil pack ignition, all new fues
and relays, has fuel, showing no codes but has
check gauges check engine ext, it wont start and
and im wondering if i could simply just have bad
spark plugs and thats why its not starting, anyonw
know whats wrong?

Not unless they've been sitting in water and got rusty.

Check the starter and the battery... the heat causes this a lot in older cars. Let me know.

If you knew it was going to sit a year did you unplug your battery? How about the gas, it's old. I'd replace it first because it separates like milk. So does diesel. It will grow a fungus even though it's petroleum based. I would drained the coolant as well. I wouldn't let a fluid sit around metal for a long period of time.
