Kia Optima 2012 won't start

Asked by Nov 01, 2016 at 03:40 PM about the 2012 Kia Optima EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car was running well and went off in the
process...after that it won't crank even though all
the accessories are working. What might be the
problem with it

check battery voltage, should be 12.4vdc. If battery is good and still won't turn over, check all battery cables for corrosion and make sure they're tight. If all cables are ok, check for voltage at the starter solenoid small terminal. If voltage is present and still no crank, replace starter

The crank shaft sensor its $60 most kia owners have this problem

@help234 crank shaft sensor has nothing to do with engine not cranking

Well, when I had that problem there were 6 other people with the exact same problem and it was found to be the problem. It wouldn't turn over to completely crank because it needed to be replaced. But since you feel you know, good luck.

When you are done wasting money and guessing contact the dealer and let them charge you an arm and leg to replace it after they keep your car a few days or a week, but to replace the crank shaft senor. They will request that replace all the belts surrounding it as well all the belts together were $120 a Orilley
