2004 explorer dies while driving

Sorry left off information. Periodically happening, with the frequency increasing. Driving along, suddenly alternator light, oil pressure, etc. Turns out, engine is off, coast to the side, put it in park and fires up immediately and then drives fine... Any suggestions...
