Defroster and blend door

So on the subject of the cable driven blend door. How is it
fixed and does it relate to the defrost or is that a completely
different thing

The thing that puzzles me is i got told by someone who has owned an 03 neon and she is a trained mechanic and these newer neons dont have a blend door. She told me it the tstat dont fix the issue to check out the blower resistor under the cowl. That is what else would be bad. Because the a/c works fine the heater core isnt plugged we blew some crud out of it and it still didnt solve the issue. If the case be the clend door how where is it located and it is simple to do
