no. but low coolant will...did you not notice the "oil" light and put a few quarts in?

Low battery charge will cause that...buy a new battery~

if it has been run without oil (don't know how this could have happened...stray bullet to the oil pan?) it could lock up...more than likely the coolant level dropped...steam must have been pouring out~

If it ran without oil then the motor is most likely seized up. Try to turn the engine over by hand using a socket on the vibration damper bolt and a break over bar.

after i let it sit it will crank right up

Sounds like you have a heat related emissions failure, make sure all your fluid levels are topped off, then have your computer codes read write them down and come on back and we will try to send you in the right direction with the diagnosis. Just a hunch but it might be your crank sensor.

retrieve your diagnostics to tell whether or not tennisshoes hunch is all that~

or bring it to NAPA or manny, moe and jack will read your codes for free~

What fails when hot?...the intake air temperature sensor...the ECU temperature sensor...those would shut down the show right proper if came up to temperature and unable to put the correct air/fuel mix in that~

an undervoltage condition as created by a "welded" state from the juncture of the 1/0 black battery cable to the chassis ground...as this--

Did you ever figure out the problem, my car is going the exact same thing!!
