button on shifter won't pop out. Is too slow .
My 2012 sonic Chevrolet shift knob button is too slow to pop out. Can this be fixed without spending a ton of money?
You might try lubing it by using a little WD-40 spray lube into the space between the button and shift knob, very carefully, be sure to wipe off any excess and work the button in and out a few times, if this doesn't help, you may need a new spring to be installed under the button, a little more difficult job though.
Thanks for the info.
Hey how about contact cleaner? Would that work better?
Maybe, but doesn't contain a lubricant, but may help remove dirt if it is making it stick.
Thanks again for your help.
