cruise control does not work

I hear ya, my 2000 does the same thing.... all I did was give the steering a whack with my fist right by the cruise cotrol button and it started to work again!!!

I have seen some cases where there is damage done to the wire'ing from constant use

Could be the Set/Coast button on the wheel that needs replacement. Easy repair.
