know do I need to drop the motor in order to retap
that hole to get to it

Alternator use a bracket stick to the motor block you just have lucky like me,I mess the one that hold the pulley tensioner, and it's because every time you remove a bolt you need to unscrew really slow and add oil in the way back to screw, motor block it's aluminum and most parts in Honda Odyssey motors, butty for you get this job done you need this bracket, remove alternator, pulley tensioner, belt, tire, and some especific tools, feel good I broke another changing the power steering pump, remove bolts slow, remember aluminum blocks are easy to mess and expensive to fix,you can geted in junk cars places(the bracket)and try the bolts in the new parts before get the job done, some bolts don't fit good...
