Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2011 nissan altima's temperature gauge goes to H
most of the time and the air conditioner blows warm. When
at certain speeds (especially high freeway speeds), it will
go back to normal and the air will blow cold again.

It's a little late to add to this thread, but it may help someone. Hit a raccoon with my 350z, 3.5L and destroyed the radiator and condenser. The repairs were done by a very reputable shop, but when I got the car back it overheated within a mile of the shop. By the time I drove back the temp was fine. During the next few uses the car got hot randomly, and I was really worried that there was a major issue. Body shop was baffled and sent the car out to a shop. It turns out that there was an air pocket in the cooling system. When the coolant is replaced in these cars the front end needs to be elevated at least 12" to avoid air pockets in the engine. If you've had an issue with your car that required/caused the evacuation of coolant make sure you elevate the front of the car before refilling it.
