2011 Ford Ranger brake light on.

Instrument panel brake light on. Checked brake
fluid level. Found brake fluid level was a little low
but within the minimal and maximum lines. I
added more fluid and the brake light went out, but
came back on.

your master cylinder could be leaking by or the seal between the reservoir and master cylinder
