3rd row side window glue got detached
I have 2011 R350. The 3rd row side window on driver side happen to detached from the bar of the car. Now, that window flaps whenever I close the door due to the pressure inside the car. It looks like the glue got detached somehow since I can see the round glue mark inside the window. What should I do? Any thoughts or recommendations?
Have a local body shop re-glue or install it properly. The dealership could also perform the repair as well.
Tom is right about where to go to get fixed, but get some duct tape and tape it down so you don't loose the glass driving down the road, and keep a window or two open slightly to release pressure when you close the door. Had the same thing happen on my old Tahoe, the body shop reglued it and that was that.
Thanks for the helpful answers, Tom and Tennisshoes. Tennisshoes, May I ask how much did you pay for regluing to the body shop?
Oh boy that was quite a while back but I think it was 25 bucks, but that was 16 years ago.
Thanks a lot, Tennisshoes!
Just want to update: I took my car to the dealership. They are willing to re-glue it but didn't have strong glue to do the job. Since there's only one time chance to fix it, they referred me an auto window shop. The technician in the window shop re-glued it right away, waited 5-10 min. until the glue dries out and then, tested power button to open/close that window. Works great without any cost. Thanks all.
Excellent, and you got it free of charge.
