What type of oil do you use?

I wouldn't, even w/ synthetic oil. Oil has gotten much better over the years and can easily go past 3,000 miles (even conventional). Synthetic oil can go farther. But, just me, I wouldn't push it past 5,000. Just w/ that great distance, there's so much that can happen w/o proper maintenance (small oil leak, debris in oil).

Actually yes, it is possible. If you do a majority of highway driving and dont race the engine you can. Modern advances in engine and oil have made this kind of thing possible. However just refer ro your owners manual and do as it says. Manufacturers wouldn't tell you to do sonething that will destroy the motor or car while its under warrenty. They want $$$, not warrenty work.
